Welcome to Armstrong Counselling

Diana Armstrong

Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live (D.Thompson)

As a senior accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I follow strict ethical guidelines. I have a degree in Psychology and am trained as a person centred counsellor. I also hold a postgraduate certificate in CBT.

While this ensures that I work to a professional standard it does not make me the expert. I will not find all answers for you. I will not tell you how to change your life. In our work together I will offer you the conditions which can lead to therapeutic growth and change, allowing you to become an assertive authority in control of your own life.

I will offer a safe space, in which you can explore all your thoughts and feelings without being judged. I will at all times try to see the world from your perspective and explore the meanings that you attach to your experiences. I will always try to be genuine with you and be fully transparent.

In my counselling I mainly use the person centred approach, mixed with Cognitive Behavioural methods.

If you would like to find out more about counselling, simply go to the website of the BACPand click on the videos "What is therapy" or "What to expect from counselling".
